Glanced up from my computer at about 2 and noticed that my anemometer was reading in the teens. Pretty unusual considering that the temp was well into the 90s?! The wind at the launch was, of course, up and down, but the gusts appeared strong enough to make a 5.0 a reasonable choice for foiling. Lots of failed attempts to foil, but also several prolonged rides (flights?). Definitely worth the effort!

The water level in DC is dropping fast but remains remarkably high for this time of year; the bushes at the Charleston launch are still in a couple of feet of water and foil clearance isn't yet a problem, at least with a 30" foil mast. Weeds, however, are becoming a problem. The water temp is a bit above 75ยบ, and a bit of alge is starting to appear in the water.
