A light SW breeze appeared about 2:30. Driving past DC the previous day, I had noticed that the lake was ice free from the North end almost to Rainbow Bay and that the water level has come up to the point where the Island is again an island. So I thought I'd give Charleston Bridge a try. A mistake. The wind was VERY gusty, and at the current lake level, the water at the Charleston launch is only waist deep for a couple of hundred yards from the shore. Definitely not ideal for foiling even with the 30" foil mast that I was using. Got a couple of short foil rides, but mostly slogged. Water temp is an amazingly mild 48ºF.
