A bit more wind than Craig predicted, but he nailed the timing. Little flickers of wind beginning about 2 and some whitecaps when I got to the beach at 2:45. Loosely rigged 4.7 and huge front wing enabled pretty consistent foil rides for about 45 minutes. George (7.5m) and Stone (6.5m) arrived at 3 and at first were getting nice planing rides.

The water continues to warm (both George and I measured it in the low 60s) and the level continues to drop. Still enough depth to allow use of a 30" foil mast, but for how long?

Do you think we will get a few more weeks if we move upwind maybe to where Ranger (the beginner) was launching on Saturday? In any case, keep us posted when your 30" starts to weed wack!

The wind arrived ABRUPTLY at 11:45. By the time I got to CB, the gusts were impressive enough to suggest that a 4.0 might be too big for foiling! My 3.5 worked well for about half an hour, at which point the wind backed off considerably, and George and Stone arrived. They rigged their usual 7.5 and 6.5 and I put on my 4.7. About that time Judy showed up for her first session of the year and rigged her 5.0. And to round out an exceptionally good turnout of windsurfers by recent standards, John Freed joined the group and rigged a 7.5. The "fin" surfers (Stone, George, Judy and John) were all looking very impressive (Judy got through the session without getting her hair wet) and the foiler (me) struggled a bit but had a great time.

Still enough depth for foiling with a 30" foil mast. The water was slightly cooler today; George and I both got readings of about 60ºF.
