Gorge Update 6/17/11

Interesting conditions in the Gorge this spring. High water and very strong currents are not ideal for kiting or sailing in the corridor or near East locations. Good kiters are taking epic swims and losing boards. Large debris in the water is a huge hazard. As far as launching at the Event Site, get there early as it is a zoo. Launching off the grass is legal now, so is the Marina. Rufus is wild and the Wall/Maryhill sites are blown out with super strong currents. Best bets are Roosevelt and the Coast. On the good side, plenty of wind, great biking, paddling, skiing, and beer. That is what I know. Safe Travels.

Thanks for the update Bob. Rip it up this year in the Gorge and Coast. Water is very high here in Utah as well, lakes full and rivers running high. Good kayaking and river surfboarding as well as kiting. Cheers WG
