5/19/07 Daily Double... Grants 5.7 Sulfur 7.5

Postby John Freed » Sun May 20, 2007 7:44 am

Grantsville for the early session... a wonderful 2-3 hours on a 5.7 85 liters with a full pond of happy windsurfers... then my wife sent me to the liquor store for a case of wine... duh... why not go to Evanston... sailed from about 3:30 to 6:00 on a 7.5 145 liters, maybe planning 50% of the time. A good day!

John, this is hysterical. You are a role model for us all. I can only hope that the 4 1/2 (5?) hrs of driving time were far outweighed by planing time.

And when you got back from your "errand"? "Oh, honey, look, they have the greatest wine store in Evanston. All the bottles have this neat no-corkscrew-required opening method -- these new "twist tops" let you get the wine breathing so much easier!! Ha, Ha, ha....

I also failed to mentioned that another justificaton for the trip was to save $.20 a gallon on my fill up in Evanston. (Having survived two teenage children, who are now in college, I have learned a thing or two about twisting the facts somewhat and blurring the gap between fact and fiction...)

5.20.07 Sulphur Creek 111 5.4

Postby rob smith » Tue May 22, 2007 2:47 pm

It always blows on Mothers day, birthdays and whichever day your at work. Had a great day at Sulpher Creek from about 12 to 3:30 planing most of the time on a 5.4. Heard hollers from numerous sailers next to me enjoying the strong southerly gusts. Met a few new sailors and sailed with many others. Nice clear water. Anyone find a long extension (chinook) at Pelican Point about 2 weeks ago? Let me know. Rob

Larry from Tx found one about a month ago. I think? Not sure how to get in touch with him.
