Rush 4/14 & 4/15 9M Waroo

Postby Kenny » Tue Apr 15, 2008 11:59 am

Rush delivered powered rides both days. Rode for 2 hours on a 9 around the lunch hour on Monday in nice 70 degree weather. Got away with a full wetsuit. This morning I got up early, by the time I arrived the direction had switched north. It felt a little light, so I rigged a 14M Nemi HP - wrong call got horsed around and rigged down to a 9. Wind was good, but it was cold!

Kenny,
Must have passed you on the road on Tues AM. I rigged a 9m and had a GUSTY up and down hour of dealing with it. Got colder and started to snow. Called it and drove back to PC in a snow storm

I think you snow boys owe us water types a thermos of hot chocolate/coffee for keeping the storms coming. Seems once I really put away my snow gear and got in a dedicated water mode it hasn't quit snowing. WE usually get good windy storms in April but not with this much SNOW. Yesterday, I packed up up my kite stuff in a snow storm at Rush. Just checked Pennys, nice wind 12-18 but at 37 degrees it's even a little too cold for this penguin. Will winter ever end. I guess it's payback for the trip to Barbados in Jan. Awe... memories of nice warm water.

So it was your fault jon! i kept feeling like i was the one killing spring everytime i told someone "i'm done with snowkiting- it's only water for me now"...

at least you can't blame me for killing the wind like you and marty so often like to do...

Yea, maybe we both are to blame. We didn't kill the wind just made it snow. Hopefully after this next storm it will be all over for those snow types. As luck would have it, I had to work last Monday and again this Fri when it's forecast-ed to again be warm and windy. I'll probably get the cold left overs on Sat. Oh well, it's still better most anything else.

OK, as long as we're coming out, I'm Tri, Water,Snow, Land in that order. I'm not easy but I can be had. Sorry I'm too old to 'tri' all three in a day. hummm maybe two is possible.
