NOAA predicting +20mph right out of the gate Saturday morning but the airport only at 8mph. Another strange front. It looked breezy when I got to the lake and Patrick was doing ok on a 7.2. However, it went too east pretty fast and then too west which made for some strange angles and wind more up and down than usual. I had trouble planing on the 112 so switched to the 135L for the morning and Josh went with a bigger sail. Maybe only moderate quality wind but nice to have it warm. Greg and Duane B. also showed up for some foiling (4.7). By afternoon it was just Greg and I trying to survive the blowing dust. Luckily it went to SSW which allowed it to fill in and yielded reaches back and forth between launch and SE corner. For me it was perfect conditions; 6.0 in 5.0 winds on a raceboard (RRD 112 Firestorm). Wild screaming reaches, occasional tail walking and the occasional jump off the board rather than jibing in the corner, just for self preservation. I have the most fun when I am thinking I just set a new personal speed record. We both finally wore out at 2:00 and called it. While I was derigging by the fence the van disappeared in a cloud of dust. Fun day.

Sailing both the Gorge and Utah on my 8'2" HiTech and my 3 Starboards; Sonic 85L, S-Type 115L, and Carve 135L. Small quiver is Northwave, larger sails are Ezzy and Sailworks. Often in my white Odyssey but also in my wife's motor home.
