Great Sadness

Postby john kikkert » Fri Jul 01, 2005 6:24 am

It is with great sadness that I offer my condolences to Mitch's family. I was surprised last week that Mitch had not returned my phone call to tell him about my move to South Padre Island, Texas and to invite him to visit. Someone at Holly Beach asked me about an incident in Utah and that is how I heard. That was a bad day of kiteboarding.

Whether in Utah or in The Gorge, where I kited with Mitch, he was a beacon of joy for kiteboarding and for life. I seem to always be complaining about the weather and the wind quality, but Mitch never did. There was no such thing to Mitch as bad wind or bad sailing. It was all good all the time.

That's the way it should be.

Goodbye to Mitch and my fellow Utah kiters. If you're in SPI, look me up.
