New Year's Day Kenny's Where to Ride
Summary: A high pressure ridge has formed over the area dampening the wind. Looks like this one is going to persist for awhile.
Today - Looks like there is a mild Northerly flow. You MIGHT get lucky at Skyline or Strawberry today, but I would go prepared with a pair of snow shoes, cross-country skies, snow mobile, or whatever else may occupy your time if the wind doesn't blow. Expect around 10 mph at both locations. If you can access higher terrain via skins or sled, there does appear to be solid north wind on the ridge tops - you know who you are. Just keep in mind that avalanche conditions are moderate along the Wasatch Front and Considerable in the Skyline area.
Wednesday looks similar to today, but even lighter, might be a good day to go back to work.
Thursday is promising light SE winds at Skyline in the morning.
