3/16 Craig's Where to Ride
Deer Creek looks like the call today as a surface thermal bucks the Jetstream and wins. Look for
some reasonably steady 7.5/14M winds up there today from noon until about 4, with air temps
in the mid 50s. The sky will probably cloud up a little around 2. Take your drysuit, stay safe,
and have a smile for Chris (Pepe) Sherman.
Tomorrow the wind just cranks, but with snow flurries possible, and air temps that flirt with
50 degrees, it's risky business for sure. Grantsville will see 4M South winds early AM until maybe 10.
I think Yuba will likely have AM south winds until 11in the 4.5/9M range.
DeerCreek will probably see 5.5/10 South winds in the late AM and get wildly gusty around 1PM then switch
North for frigid 5M/10 rides under snow squall skies. Willard sees afternoon 5/10M North conditions. Rush
will likely have 3.5/trainer kite conditions PM with some rain mixed in on the strong North wind, Likewise
Utah lake launches look to have 4/8M conditions probably from 11AM until about 5PM, peaking around 1PM
when it will be hard to hold anything down in the 49MPH gusts. Not recommended, but If you're thinking
about going out, be sure you know how to stay warm in extreme conditions.
Tuesday looks like residual North planable winds at Rush with mid 50s air temps.
