It is nice when we can transition directly from the water to the snow. Last Saturday, I was kiting Deercreek and today looks like a promising opening to the snowkite season.

I checked out the UDOT camera for Skyline this AM and it is still socked in. It appears that Skyline received a good snowfall. It should clear and bring NW wind in the low to mid-teens this afternoon. NW Wind is a bit tough to ride when the coverage is sparse, but rides should be available for those who are really itching to go and don't mind a few gashes on their rockboard. If you have access to Lake Creek (I don't know if it is still driveable, but I doubt it) by snowmobile, snowshoes, or touring. It should give up some rides with better coverage than Skyline. The trick is getting there. If you do go to Skyline, please give us an update.

Tomorrow looks like a snow day.

Thursday promises some light wind riding at Skyline and Lake Creek.

Newbies with foils - save yourself some frustration and wait for more snow. Skyline has plenty of bridle grabbing weeds poking up through the snow this time of year.
