Finished the chore list and headed for Saratoga Springs to catch some of the 20+ PVU was reporting mid-afternoon. Arrived to find just a few sporadic whitecaps so I kept driving to MM19. There are private property signs still posted on the sides of the dirt access road down near the beach but there were some folks fishing and shooting (crimson napes!) plus I drove past a sheriff who just waved as I went down to the launch. The wind looked much better and I was contemplating whether to rig a 6.0 or 6.5 but after a nice gust came through I settled on a 5.5. I sailed mostly powered for about 45 minutes and then it really started coming in strong. I hung on until I should have been on a 4.2 and then called it a day. The frothy brown/green waves were crashing pretty hard by then which made it difficult to get both me and my gear in to shore. Surprisingly, the water was not that cold!
