3/31 DCCB 8.5m sail, 138L board

East southeast wind 7 to 11 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon," and the wind seemed pretty fluky, but the sky was clear, the air was warm, and DC has been ice free for a couple of weeks.
My big board/big sail combo (not as big as Josh's!) produced sedate cruising punctuated by occasional bouts of planing. A kiter upwind at BWB appeared to be experiencing similar conditions.
The water level is high enough to permit convenient launching at Charleston (and, I assume, at BWB) but the lake is not as full as it was at this time last year. Water temp (at the surface, in the shallows) is already up to almost 50F.
