The highway signs were warning of high winds but those were mostly east of Evanston. Still, Sulfur was covered with whitecaps when I got there. Unfortunately, the wind was a little too northwest to fill in so the wind was gusty/streaky. No way to launch from the usual spot as I couldn’t clear the dock. Was sailing into the bay between the fisherman’s club and the dam then back over the island to the north side about as far east as I have ever been. Rigged a medium sail on a big board to take care of the gusts and lulls. I only tail walked about 4 times so it must have worked. Not a lot different than the usual rip and schlog Sulfur we know in the summer. Had a good time for a couple of hours but it took patience, unlike last Saturday-Sunday. The temp was 53 when I got there but it felt warmer.
