Got up at 5:30 expecting to see a ton of wind. Nada. At some point in the morning I made that fatal mistake of not watching the wind meter. By the time I realized the wind was up I missed a major portion of it. Still, I get a wild hour of sailing on a beautiful afternoon. It was 21-25 at the water. I took out the 5.2, saw a die-off, got the gear out for the 6.0, changed my mind again, and rigged the 7.0. Dumb. My first trip back I got flattened by a dust devil. I had figured 74 degrees, go with the summer suit. 2ns dumb. Boy is that water cold. As soon as I got back up it went to 5.2 conditions and I was out of control. Had a half hour of wild rides, then a nice half hour perfect rides, then the noon die-off hit. In spite of the wind at GSL staying south it never really came back. Got a few more rides on the 7.0, and rigged the 8.5 for a few more but it was essentially done. Still, way better than Tuesday when I got 2 planers on an 8.5 at DC on what was supposed to be a windy day.
