5/31/2014 Grants & Sulfur - Rip & Slog
Sounds like Saturday was a double header for a number sailors. The early morning session at Grants was fairly tame, 6.0 / 6.5 / 7.0 / 7.5 with a few good rides, but never really got going. Good turnout however, Ken, Mike, Linda, Sara, Patrick, Josh, and a special guest appearance by the one and only Wayne Johnson, who knocked off a little rust. Ken, Mike and I decided we needed a little more, so we hit the road, arriving at Sulfur about 1:30. Tom W. and Steve were blasting around on 4.7 - 5.8, but as Steve said, "classic Sulfur" with big gusts and lots of holes. Ken rigged 6.0, Mikey on a 5.2, I rigged a 5.8, and we all enjoyed a nice afternoon, with ripping rides and a slog here and there. Bigger boards helped as the floatation was needed to stay afloat.
