I had big plans for the 12M from the way the day was setting up, then I almost called it a bust but Arpi and Ryan were heading down so I packed the 20M Rhino being pretty sure that is what I would be riding. When we pulled up it was pretty light (maybe 12 mph) so I shouldn't have been surprised when the wind dropped just a bit and I ended up in the reeds. That wouldn't be that bad other than that damn barb wire fence makes it impossible to walk back to the beach. FARMERS THAT PUT BARB WIRE FENCES IN LAKES SUCK! Fortunately for me my fence dilemma kept me out in the water long enough (floundering with the carp) for the wind to kick back up. It wasn't long before I was riding upwind again and soon enough riding well overpowered. At some point I gave Ryan, Apri, and Sal the "what the hell are you doing standing on the beach sign". I guess that was the sign they were waiting for since they all jumped back in. My kiting has been hampered by work this season so I am a little out of shape. That's not enough to get me to call it quits but I was actually really cold (it's June isn't it? what's up with that). I told myself that when the sun hit the mountain I was heading in. Ryan followed and Apri and Sal were still ripping it up as I headed for home.

Overall a very very nice session! As much as I miss our beloved SSB I can see how one could get used to that grass: rip-less self landings/launches and clean gear.

Just where is the location of this Lincoln beach. I have sailed off a rocky beach east of the orchards on Lincoln Mtn. north of Spanish Fork. But never sailed SSb and am unsure whether this launch is deep enough for sailboards anymore? :?:
