Arrived about 8:30 to see John D. and Troy (yes, Troy, the other half of No. 1 Son.) counting clouds and listening to Mormon crickets in the 10-12 breeze. Brief chat and we were headed back to SLC, certain our sacrifice would bring our friends some planers. Hope so. If only the windmeter could talk...

The minute Dimitri left the little weeds picked up. Troy got in the straps 6x before 11am when it went North. 7.5 sail. Troy hadn't sailed in about five years, worked on his tacks. Now he wants gear, I can't tell him about RDM gear yet. Trevor will hit Gville Monday before class at Weber, then Willard.

I went to a packed Jordanelle, looked 6.0, rigged, rode one lap and it died. Then crazy gusts came through. The best riders were on older gear, taking their time. Duane Bush and family never stop sailing, Brian Kelm kited, swam in once, then windsurfed. Strange wind day, you needed a couple rigs on the beach for whatever blew through. By 330 it was 88 degrees, blowing hard but my shift was over.

DC conditions appeared to be similar to those at J-Bay - funky wind, big crowd. I didn't go out.
