Got to the pond around 4 PM to find white caps, a cold north wind, and many little surprises in the water. It seemed like all the tumbleweeds that had piled up outside the north embarkment had blown back into the water. There were so many scattered around that I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to get a reach without getting sucked down off foil by one.
So, I pumped up the 4.2 and started the inevitable slalom rides through the little land mines. Fortunately, the tumbleweeds weren't too bad to dodge, and never got burnt by one. However, falling when I did was a nice way to warm up, as the water was much warmer than the cold front gusts.
After about an hour the tumbleweeds all got blown downwind and the riding got more carefree. The 4.2 was great until around 6:30 when the wind started to drop. Overall, it was a great unorthodox solo session at Gville.
