8/24/24 J-Bay Wing Fest at Ross Creek - 3.5?

We biked PC this morning, then I headed over to Jordanelle's Ross Creek Rec Area, no sailing gear, just wanted to check the action. At 2:30 I saw 15+ wings out ripping it up. Another 15+ on the beach, perhaps taking a break, or going out, along with 3 kites. Down by the water, which was still nice and high so not a long walk from the first big parking lot where everyone seemed to be, the wind felt like 5.3 with much stronger wind lines. I read 3.5 on two of the wings though my binos. North Jordanelle station PC023 was clocking 19 gusting to 35, then 22 gusting to 40 and more by 3:00. Almost all the parking slots north of the main action were totally empty. Kids back in school, who wants to hang out on a super windy park day? Just the 30-40 folks sailing, I guess.
Great scene!
