9 for 9 days straight blew at Skyline

Starting after the last storm over a week ago, Skyline blew for 7 days straight with winds in the 12-25mph range. averaging over 15 most days. Friday gave out 8 for 8 with more sun and wind. By Saturday, only the early risers got the sweet session, but there was power on the hill for big kites up by the Chastamon forest. For the late comers the wind died off slowly throughout the day....nonetheless it was 9 for 9 at the Line!

Kenny, I would have stayed for the afternoon session, but the riding was so intense for me all morning, that I was drained by the time I came down. It was damn cold too! There was this hard core guy from CO who slept in his car and almost died cuz it was -15 at night up there! My middle fingers are still numb from minor frost bite, from enduring the lovely temps for too long.

Need more snow up there, its getting to be alpine conditions, plenty to find if you explore tho. Just bring snow shoes or skins for the hike back

Brian,

I agree with you. I was surprised to see less snow after the last storm went through than we had a couple weeks ago at Skyline. I fully expected 2 feet of pow after riding around a foot of the good stuff at Rush. I even mounted my K2 clicker bindings on my 167cm snowboard so that I could stay afloat. Oh well, maybe the next storm will be the big one...
