5/18 DC CharlestonBridge; 6.6^2/117L

The wind started building out of the southwest at a little after 10, reached a peak of 24 MPH at about 11, and then slowly backed off. A bit gusty (as always) but not nearly as all-or-nothing as last week. My 6.6 and John D's 6.8 provided intermittent planing; the graph of GPS speed vs. time (05/18.5/07) reflects how the session went:

As the water continues to warm (65 today in the shallows at Charleston Bridge) the water level is beginning to drop. Charleston Bridge is still usable, even for boards with longish fins (62cm) but its windsurfing season is clearly going to be a short one this year.
