Nice late pm Kite at Lincoln, all the usuals in attendance. No Arpi or Dean, seems like more Rushies than UL regulars. Smooth, all though a little lite. Congrats to Billy Bordy, gets a call to teach a lesson just as wind comes up. We need to refer all newbies to him for lessons, He's the Man, does a great job. Well trained newbies will help us all be safer.

I only had a 2 hour openings, so I tried Lindon from 4-6 pm. The beach is terrible, but whit some help, I was in the water in no time. It was super gusty close to the shore, but 200 yards in to the lake was awesom. I did ride my 16m Waroo, and my 137 Litewawe. I had a nice ses, just missed some good company. I'm going to Europe for 3 weaks, so see you guys in July, and good luck whit the Utah Summer Games.

So...ya know when I was cutting through the tall grass in the bay?
I have all kinds of little "grass slivers" in my arm.
Itches like crazy.
I've done that every time at Lincoln.
Wonder why its different today?

Maybe you need to just jump a little higher or get taller foot beds on your board

i was loaded ready, second time, then did not go because i did not want to kite alone. mainly i am unsure on self launching on that beach. i guess i could do a semi drift launch. i wish i could know who was going to go, i saw on the pager it was blowing, i just need to overcome kite fears.

this time of year, after rush has turned to mush, it is usually a safe bet that if the provo airport is blowing, or if bluffdale is blowing, there will usually be someone there. i am the same way and have sat at rush a few times waiting to see if anybody was going to show up becuase i was afraid to kite alone. i've done it once, but have been unsure a couple times with gusty wind.

either way, i've found that by getting a few fellow kiters numbers and being annoying and sending the texts and phone calls, you can usually see if someone is going to kite. i feel that sometimes i send unwanted texts or calls, but it usually yields information about where people are heading.

on another note- props to bill for keeping it positive and teaching the lesson tuesday night! you are such a great teacher and a credit to the kiteboarding community. i may have to schedule a private lesson with you, or at least get you out kiting with me when you don't have a lesson. i feel like my progression has become a bit stagnent. that may be due to the fact that i'm not taking many risks when i head out. i still got more jumps in last sesh than i have had before though... just didn't quite push the envelope all the way.

and marty, i went through the reeds once and had the same problem with the plant particles although i dont' think mine were as bad as yours were. at least they dont hurt like concrete splinters do. i used to get those skateboarding.
