Rode a bit powered for a few hours today. Logged about 30 miles. Got a bit sketchy when a lull came through. Didn't want to walk that far back to the car and man it was hot. The surface has gotten a bit weird. Some spots are no longer rock hard. I think what little water was in the ground dried up and now its a bit sandier. It takes a bit more power to get rolling. Still fun to get out and ride. I missed the wind a few times this week. It seems to shut down around 6:30. By the time I'm off work, drive out there and rig the wind starts tapering fast.

Yeah, Mike. I've been noticing that the wind seems best from 3 to 6-ish. Rough time slot for the working man.
About the surface, you can typically identify by looking what the ground is like. White usually means a bit softer, sandy looking seems to go along with a crust, and the cracked surface is usually hard and fast. It's a bit tricky sometimes to read the land while you're loading up to jump, but most of the time, crusing is no problem.
I'm still hoping that Burm gets into a more solid pattern, but predicting that place can be a bit challenging.
Good to get some rides this week? Let me know.
