I finally got baptized in the GSL. There was enough wind to fly a kite, but not enough to do more than go up and down. Antelope Island meter said winds were strong early in the day.

I found that a couple of submersions were bareable, but more than a couple in a row one right after the other were a little (a lot) hard on the eyes. The nose clip did the trick.

I saw the bird poo island Marty kited out to awhile back a ways out there. The place looks like it would be nice with wind. Water was very warm.

Be careful about landing on Bird Poo Island. It is one of the largest nesting sites for California Gulls in the US. The rangers will get upset if you land there and I am not sure how far away they want you stay from it.
