DCIB 8/8
The wind started building about noon and peaked at around 2:30. Quite steady from about 2 to 3, then became gustier. A good turnout for a weekday, including ____ Bird (sorry, forgot your first name
) Kevin, Charles Ryon, George Ward, and two kiters, Billy Bordy and (I'm not good at remembering names, sorry!). Paul and Angie stopped by but didn't go out, as conditions were getting pretty weird.

My excitement for the day was being chased down by the patrol boat, lights flashing; warned (no ticket thankfully) not to exceed 5 mph in the "harbor" area, i.e. inside the buoys.
After resting peacefully under water all last season, the rigging carpet has resurfaced, an indication of just how far the water has dropped.
Thanks to Steve Nyhus for cluing me in to the presence of a large concrete block just below the surface (not for long, probably!) I left a bleach bottle floating above the windward side of it yesterday; hopefully the bottle's still there (I'm sure the concrete is).
