Great session... Got a great itch taken care of... Well, Sulphur Creek in the end would've been the SEMI NUKER sesh... But by 3PM it was too late to motor up there... But man alive, it looked perfect nukage on the weather station. I was hoping to hear of somebody's semi nuker sesh! Nobody hit Sulphur?

Arrived to PBM at around 4PM... There were a number of sails on the water... 5.2 to 6.5 was the range until Carl showed up! The swell was a little cross-choppy but gave up quite a few surprise rides when everything lined up... Lot's of new faces out on the water and it was great to see some big smiles...

The ramps were intermittent... But when they were good, they were great... Provo Boat Harbor swell lines up a little more organized and bigger... But the lake has to be totally filled in w/wind of course... Lake has come down a foot or two and my mast stuck in the mud on bottom a couple of times.

Fun to sail with everybody there... Dimitri, Jim H., Carl C., Eric C.,Kevin H., and a few others whom I didn't recognize... I feel that buzz that only a good sailing session can give...

What Rick said...yahoo! Have't had a rippin' UL session like this is a long while. What a blast. 5.7 flattened and 94l board with a little fin for me. Wind was Northeasterly, which is always pretty clean. Funny watching the jet skiers put their toys away cause the water got rough and we all were just going out for our fun.

Gotta watch out for Dimitri. He's wiley and shows no mercy and will try to pass you when you go out on your first ride of the day and haven't even gotten the feel yet. George and Paul will do that too. BTW, it takes a while to get adjust your lines, straps and perceptions when you haven't been out for a couple weeks, 2 or 3 reaches at least. After that, fair game.

Just kidding. But my first reach was complicated by a bit of hootin' and a hollerin' coming from the gentleman maniac port and aft. After Dimitri packed in Rick and I tagged up until the whole thing started to taper off after 6. That made it a solid 4 hour 5m2 sesh for those who got there at 2, one of whom was not me. Can I please just have a few more family obligations and complications in my life to keep me from getting there at all? That would solve everything.

Meanwhile, it was a keeper, fo-sho. The water remains warm. Sulpher might have been good but UL wind is so friggin' smooth and solid it's hard to ignore. And even though the sign says $8 or something and "put money here", nobody I talked to did and we all feel that it must be a misprint or something. Anyone know what is going to happen with that?

As the lake level drops Provo Harbor is getting easier to launch so maybe that will be the place to go. I hope so because the swell is better, more organized and smoother. It'll even be kite friendly if the water level drops another foot.

oops. i'm signed in under Jason. but guess who it really is. guess right and win. no fair Rick or Dimitri. (Jason was at SSB kitin' it up.)

I had the unique experience of actually staying with Carl for all of about 200 yards, until I mistakenly revealed my shadowing him with a holler and Carl decided to sheet in and leave me in the spray. What a fun time, though. Carl and Rick were still rompin' when I drove away.

The sign on the guardshack says, $8 for trailers, season passes $60 for residents (uh, and that would be...anyone who lives in Provo?) and $90 for infidel non-residents. Problem was, there were no envelopes, the lockbox didn't open, no sign of how to pay. I think they're getting geared for next year. $90 will be a bit steep for a place I might sail 3-4X a year. Maybe we can arrange a UWA discount??

Yeah, maybe a UWA discount since we're such good folks and we only show up when nobody wants to be there anyway so they might as well let us in for free just to have some color and entertainment. Either that or we pool our money and buy beach front. With a patch of grass. And sandy launch. And a wind meter. And a blender with ice.

We work together and use the same computers sometimes. He posted on a computer that auto logged under my name, obviously. I certainly didn't give him my password nor was I at Saratoga windsurfing. Sounds fun though. Kind of miss drag racing Carl. He's kinda fast. Especially in light/moderate winds.

I'll take light or moderate anytime. Strong winds are a stretch when you base in SLC but I'll take 'em as they come, hopefully this fall.

Wow... I was hoping that I didn't miss Jason if he was out there!!?? Jason, this is just a witness to the fact that you need to bust out the pole and board! Once or twice this fall!
