Started out on a 12M with the wind blowing 15 - 20 mph. It picked up until I could hold on no longer. I went in and pumped up a 7M. Thought I would be slightly underpowered - I was wrong! Lit on the 7M riding water as flat as Rush. Keep picking up until I was barely hanging on with the strap pulled all the way in. Finally had to bail around 4.

Tons of birds and great views of Antelope Island, Lagoon, Centerville and Bountiful.

Windiest day so far of the year for me. First time this year that I pulled out the 7M!

It does stink a bit, but when the wind is blowing 20+ it is difficult to notice. Reminds me of the Rush of years past. It is a bird refuge, so there are tons of birds. I bet it reeks on a warm, windless day.

It is big. The reach is better than DC. I would guess that it is 1 square mile. I doubt we will be banned because the water season is almost over and it just opened up. We will be lucky to get 3 - 4 sessions a year. It is not for beginners because of the moss and muck, so that limits the number as well. I would only go there on a south. The wind is going to be better on a north at UL. So that is a limiting factor as well.

No, Swaner is a nature preserve protect by PC fat cats. I used to be tempted to poach it until I realized that there are far better places to snowkite.
