Arrived just as Bob was leaving. He said it was too light. Thanks for the sacrifice. Wind was only blowing about 9 mph. I dragged 2 of my kids with me and I told them we would build a snowfort if the wind didn't blow. We put on winter gear and when I hopped out of the truck the wind was blowing 15. Rigged up the kite and had ample power. Pulled my 10 year-old son on skis for 30 minutes or so and rode for another 45 solo. Surface is 8-10" of loose powder. We tried building a snowfort, but the snow was too loose for packing. All in all a real keeper and my first decent session on the snow this year.

I rode the new Montana 3 9.5m for a few hours before Bob arrived. I got grabbed by the mud monster out there a few times. If you edge too hard you get right into that stuff and it would bring me to a dead stop. Needed a bit more wind than Rush provided, but had a good first session myself. Should of brought the big gear, but I wanted to check out the new kite. It did much better than I thought it would in the light winds. The higher aspect makes it a quick turner and I could generate enough power working the kite.
I wanted to head to Skyline, but figured Rush was the better chance for actually riding. Hopefully they had fun at the opener. Just wish I had hit Rush earlier. Wind looked stronger around 9:00am and I would not have gotten in trouble with the wife.
