1/2 & 1/3 of 2008 @ Skyline
Posted: Thu Jan 03, 2008 7:18 pmThe second was light most of the day, offering rides from 12 to 15 meter kites through out the day. Several lulls, and mostly an odd SE direction, that funneled up all the east facing and south facing gullies.
On the third blue skies again met us and after a dead period the south finally kicked in, still a heavy east component, odd yet invigorating as 80% of the terrain was accessible (compared to a normal 50% of ridable options/faces).
Students held ground (eventually) on 6 meter access snowkites, over a dozen riders on the slope for a Thursday mostly on 10-13 meter kites (blimps and limps). Sunset session was of course the best wind, bad light but fun riding.
Snow flurries started at 5pm on our last run. Skies were cloudy with good visibilty, but the Horseshoes are socked in already.
Heading out Friday to get the goods before the real storm approaches.
