Rode with Mike Rossberg, which was cool since Mike was my original riding buddy and the guy who roped me into the sport. Dave Griffiths and Rachel were there learning. Wind was out of the south 15 - 20 on the hill 10 - 15 on the flats. 1 foot of fresh light Wasatch pow was deposited everywhere. Best part was that there was very little sled traffic. Only downer was that it was overcast, so it was nearly impossible to spot landings - didn't matter because the landings were so soft.

My first day of year on the snow is was super. Best powder I've kited in. Not to deep, just a foot bouncy powder all over the hill. I rode my 16m Bularoo and was dialed most of the session.

Fun day with Mike & Kenny. Kenny was geting some pretty sweet glides in though he's right about it being overcast. I can't tell you how many times I was diving the kite and thought I still had plenty of sky only to graze or hit the ground due to not being able to see the skyline on the snow. I also discovered that kite lines do NOT untagle by themselves like paraglider lines do. What gives?? A paraglider with hundreds of lines untangles in a heartbeat . . Kite lines . . in 45 minutes of swearing and cussing. I learned my lesson, don't stack your lines, coil them on the bar ONLY! Fun kiting in the powder but ended up twisting my knee pretty badly at the end of the day. I'll probably be done for a week or two while the maniscus heals up but we'll still get Rachel out.
