Been here in Jamaica 4 days so far. i got to kite all day on my first full day here, got a good hour plus in a at the end of the second day, and have essentially been washed out the last 2. Went out on my 15m to start day one, and was way overpowered for most of a 1 1/2 hr session. came back in and switched out to the 11 and had a real nice 1 1/2 hrs before breaking for lunch. another 2 hrs after lunch on the 11. couldn't help but think as i rode with smoothe winds on blue water with sand and corel underneith how much i missed rush and deer creek (well, maybe not.....)

Day 2 wind came up late and i got an early eveneing session with the sun going down, well powered on the 15m. yesterday was 10 mph winds.... not quite enough. today i was suckered into rigging twice with winds that kept flirting with mid-teens but backing off each time i rigged. wind next few days looking iffy here, could go either way.

A special thanks to Todd for lending me his "golf" bag and new board that fits in it. The crazyfly says he doesn't know what he's doing with you and wants to stay here with me in Jamaica, mon!

got to ride my last 3 days in jamaica in low 20's wind each afternoon, well powered on my 11m. was out about 3 hours each day. the waves got a little bigger each day. the wind/wave directions were such that when heading away from shore, it was just one ramp after the next. on the last day, I didn't need to do much more than head up a wave with stiff legs and pull in the bar when I got to the top for 15ft+ jumps (my highest by far). spent a lot of time working on my first backrolls. crashed about 100 of them, but got to where I could land every other one by the end of the week.

Lynn made great progress, getting up and riding 100-200 yards pretty much on every start attempt. considering that she was also riding the 11m (the smallest kite we brought), she showed a lot of courage and really did a great job.

overall, the resort was nice, really reasonably priced, better wind than I had hoped for, and you could launch right at the resort. all in all, i'd recommend this place for a kite trip. starfish trelawny, part of superclubs.
