I am liking the idea of double headers lately. It works well sandwiching a little work between.
I left my office just before 5, calling Mike multiple times to make sure dealing with the traffic would be worth it - he assured me the wind was there.
When I got to the beach Mike Egan, Jim Hornbeck, and Darren were out on 4.5 to 5.2 so I rigged my 5.2 and as soon as I was ready to go it backed off some.
I pumped some planning rides down the swell for a half hour and decided to rerig. I pulled out my 6.3 and Admiral Rick showed up and brought the wind with him. So I went back out on the 5.2 and enjoyed a 45 minute gust which ended with 10 minutes of crazy 4.0 conditions. Everyone was blown off the water except Rick who wanted to display is macho push loop attempts, just %20 more to go!!!!
There was one more guy parked 100 yards west of us, but I am not sure who it was. Maybe Rob from Saratoga???

Yeah pretty much what Josh said.
The first session I had was pretty good.
The second session was really up and down 4.5 (mostly down) and after about 10 minutes of swimming I finally got in.
Decided to pack it up just as Rick hit the water.
Of course it went balistic 4.0.
I really did'nt think it was going to last so I kept derigging.
Driving out I could barely see the dirt road in the dust storm
It kept blowing till dark, I think.
You the man Rick!!!

Thanks to you guys getting off your butts and getting out there, you motivated me to make the drive after 6PM! That's one of the latest ventures out for wind I've had to date I believe. Getting on the water at like 6:45 or 7PM... We sailed until 8:15PM right? I'm surprised that dusk lasted so long. I only expected to watch people derig once I got into the construction traffic on Redwood road going toward Saratoga. yep, josh, it's all about the macho face planting over and over into the chocolate soup!? What a fun session!

Darren, I saw you still got a lot of the good stuff... For those who know, Darren had some of his floater jumps out there... You're the man! Always fun to watch... Especially when you've got all that Maui gear. Brings me right back! Chris Arnston was about 100 yards to the south getting some great rides. Looked like he rigged perfectly for the occasion.
