Wow. Surprised nobody posted yet!!
What a session... Showed up at 1:30? Mike says has his 5.6 rigged? Hum... Ok .. I'll rig 4.7 then... Out... Back... Blown off... Not even close. 3.7? ooops forgot it home.
I rig my 4.2 as flat as it will go and go back hoping for the best. It works for a while while the winds keeps building and building and building...In the end? I swallowed half a gallon of water, oet flattened on the left, got pounded on the right, swam after my unapologetic gear more often than not. Fun (I guess ) The beach is slowly turning into a anthill. the inside of the marina is whitecaping like never before. All the regulars show up as well as all those oh so mysterious people who only seem to be there when it's blowing 40+. Are these guys all coming for the gorge?

Anyway, Tuesday was a stunner. I will never leave home without my 3.7 again !!

Pons did a great description. 5.5 to 4.2 to 3.7 and still getting blasted. Unlike last Friday, I did remember my 3.7 this time. I'm smiling after another Gunnar's clouds-in-the-hole day. Tuesday proved I am definitely not in shape for the Gorge yet.

Yes 5.6 to 4.6 to 4.2 and still everything was to big. My smallest board is 95 liters. Not ready for the gorge, but atleast I can rent a 70liter and a 3.7 up there.

I think Tom Smart said it best, "it was an x rated day."

I sailed 4.1 and an 85 litter board that wanted break speed records every time I applied mast base pressure.

The launch was an impact zone that we had to get our gear through. I had a fun time after I de-tuned my rig making beam reaches manageable.
I was coming head on with Eric Christensen and I had the right of way, being on a port tack, but he quickly changed directions heading up wind fast. When I joked with him about it on the beach he said the alternative of heading downwind would be close to suicide.

After the wind backed down a little bit I fueled up and watched everyone pack up and leave. No one would want to sail 5.0 after a 3.5 session, right? So I pulled out my 100 liter JP and a 5.2 then messed around slightly underpowered but still planning for about an hour. Dave kept my company on the water.

I was the last one to leave. A pelican bay local came down and said he had been watching us on multiple occasions this year and wants to learn to windsurf. So I set up my first lesson after getting back from windsurf instruction school. What a great way to finish the day. FYI if you talk with anyone that wants to learn, please send them my way.

I missed this session... And you know why!? I was on a Disney Cruise with the family! Yes, you heard right! A Disney Cruise... Mickey's going to get a kick to his little rodent juevos the next time I see him!

Actually, the cruise was pretty fun with all the nieces and nephews... But surfing in Cabo was outstanding... Never had a great opportunity to windsurf... Although 40 miles off the coast of Baja and southern cal, it was windy the whole time!
