Lincoln Beach Suckerfest, 6/18
Posted: Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:25 amArrived at 4:30 to 10mph winds with Jake and a newb already there waiting. after 40 mins and a few other arrivals, the wind came up a little, averaging about 12, so Mark and I decided to give it a try. Made about 3 reaches on my 15 waroo and big board before the wind tailed off. My kite eventually fell out of the sky and decided to take a long rest on the water. Got it relaunched once, only to have it drop again a few minutes later, and no amount of coaxing would get it off the water again. Luckily i could still touch bottom, so it wasn't too tough to make my way to shore. It was pretty close to dead calm when i left at 7:30. I wore a 3mm wetsuit, but it seemed like the water was plenty warm to go without at this point.
Also made a stop at SSB to see what that looked like. There is still basically no beach there, just a little alcove of sand that would be big enough to set up a kite, but you'd probably have to do a drift launch there.
