I was mowing the lawn when the flag on memorial started moving hard at noon, so I stopped and headed for dear creek. stopped at
kite beach to see what was happening. One kite out, a 13m, so I decided to opt for the dark side with my 15m but by the time I got to the beach the guy on 13m(joe ?) was coming in to rig his 8m so that made me rethink my choice and decided to go with the 9m. After
some glitches in the beginning finally got up and going with some rides in both directions but still not locked in with my style, but getting better and better each time. The wind was very gusty with extremes in both directions (0 to 30+). After two hours of kiting in
gusty conditions I decided it was time to switch to windsurfing since it would handle the gusty winds better and it did. I rigged my 6.6
with the 100L board and that seemed to be the right choice for me. Rode for another two hours and had many good rides.

The best day at DC all year for me. 6.6 and 117 liters. I was overpowered more than under and my first reach was scary op. Hung on for a few hours with a good group of sailors. Sweet afternoon!!!!!!!

I had two sessions at DC darkside. Thanks to Jake for loaning me his 8M for the first 90 minutes. Went back out again on my 9M for another 90 minutes. I thought the wind was mighty fine. It was a bit gusty and first, but smoothed out nicely. One of the better days at DC all year.

Wow, Kiters and Windsurfers posting on the same page! Good work George! There's hope for us yet. As stated above, real good afternoon at "Dear" Creek.

I had fun for the last hour I was able to be there. When I arrived my 11 was for sure going to be too much, as Billy was going out on a 7, so thanks to Kenny for letting me borrow a 7m. And thanks to Don for helping me get the kinks worked out and learn a bit about tuning a bar. I had some fun rides before coming in at about 5 pm a bit under powered on the 7 by that point. May have still been ok if I had a bigger board but it was time to go anyway. Worth ditching a bit of work for some fun on the water.

I think that was the best day I have had at Deer Creek. Deer Creek still gusty even on its best days. Once we sailed past the buoys the wind was much more consistent. As Mike said there was some major overpowered conditions. I could have been on a 5.0 in most of the gusts. Jim's wind meter read many gusts of 35.

Nice to see many wind riders out on the water taking advantage.
