From last Saturday thru New Years today there have been good riding sessions at Skyline. Lots of out of town friends have been around, along with several locals.

Mon - wed ramped up with good wind that got better each day. Today was even stronger but also gusty, still plenty of kiters all over the place. Wed and Thursday offered strong enough winds to ride the iffy spots like the bowls and gully's.

Wednesday I hit 35mph on my Twisted board and 11m Frenzy.

Massive new years party in MT Pleasant with kiters from Oregon, Cali, Utah, Colorado celebrating to the wee hours.

Thats the delayed report and wrap up for the last week of 08 at Skyline.

BTW - I saw Kenny flying bigger than anyone off of Boscos..... some guy came up and was sure that it was Alex P. Your style is looking good these days!

Crazy Kevin and I cut a couple of cornices to see if they would slide... I would say the hills are getting stable with the wind and cold... as there was no action or slides.

Brian,

It was good to see you and Heather at Skyline! It is a shame that Heather is out with an injured knee. I wish her a speedy and full recovery.

I agree that there is a good vibe at Skyline this year, seems like the number of snowmobiles is way down this year which has made the launch area much less congested and more user friendly. I don't know if it is the sheer number of kiters that has scared them off or if they have just found a better place to ride, but it is a nice development.

I set up a video cam at the top of Bosco to capture some glides. It is tough when you have a fixed frame. The footage covers only 30% of each glide. I felt like Uncle Rico in Napolean Dynamite with his throwing the football at the video camera antics (I am so lame). I really need to take some time to shoot some video of other riders, but I have to say that it is a lot more fun to setup a fixed video and ride than to freeze your hands off filming.
