Got to Strawberry River at about 1:45 and stayed based on Ralphs suggestion that the snow might have been much worse at Chicken Creek. I pulled out the 12M Foil and as soon as I got it set up the wind died. About 15 min later it came back light and then slowly built. I was out until about 5:00 and the last couple hours were excellent well powered conditions! The snow was a little crusty on the tops of the windward side of the hills but on the lee side there were great powder stashes. Two other kites in the air there . . I'm surprised more didn't opt for the river.

I was one of the other kiters there on my Ozone Instinct 11M. Although it started out a little slow, the wind definitely picked up and it ended up being a sweet day of kiting! With only 4 of us there the whole afternoon, we pretty much had free reign on the fresh powder. I was surprised that all the snow-mobilers were gone by about 1:30. I almost felt guilty having all that good snow and wind to myself...well...not really. 8) It would have been nice, though, to see more kiters out there to take advantage of the good conditions. Jake was actually heading out on a down-winder when I showed up about 1pm. Dave helped me launch and then headed off for some gliding off the hills on the NE side where the wind seemed to be the best. I found some sweet rides just NE of the parking lot. It was definitely worth taking off the afternoon of work for. Nice meeting you Jake, Dave, and Chris.
