Rode from 7 - 8:30 on skis. Wind was 12-15 mph. The snow is hard and patchy in places, it would be hateful on a snowboard. It was super cold this morning and I had to leave just about the time that the sun was finally making its way down the canyon walls. The reach is short as you have to stay in the narrow section near the dam for the wind to be any good, go for the opening to the lake and it fizzles out. Looks like it will repeat again tomorrow. I think I will go again tomorrow, but next time I am wearing 2 pairs of thermals instead of one.

I was there this morning (Mon.) at like 9:30 we must have just missed you Kenny and ya it sucks on a snowboard, really hard to hold an edge. Saw prob five kites in the air. We stayed back where it was lighter because of the bulletproofness. Skiers looked like they could do alright with there multiple edges. Still better than sitting at home I'd say. We put an 8" ice screw in for fun and didn't come close to the bottom of the ice. This spot is prob awesome with powder on it. Today was the first time I'd kited there and the wind is really smooth.

12m Waroo and 9m Yarga
Brian, we must have been there at the same time. We were by the dam tender's house, along with the guys from Mexico. It was my 14 year old son's 3rd try on snow and 4th try total. He has it down quite well. He might have made it up by you at one point Brian. (Gold Waroo) It was my daughters 2nd try (The first didn't coun't though cause of no wind!) She picked it up really quickly on the Yarga. The snow/ice was not very good but, I tell you, Pineview on these inversion mornings is the best place there is to teach people how to snow kite. I taught my wife last year on the same type of day. My first successful time snow kiting was on Pineview two years ago (Thanks Les). If you're looking for a place to teach someone, this is it. The wind is about as steady as it gets!
Thanks again for the forcast and update Kenny.

Ya Ken I saw you guys...those guys from Cancun are pretty cool too. I just wish it would get epic for them! I was with my girlfriend just up from you guys flying the foils...she's just learning too so that worked great for us.
