Did it happen? Was I too impatient? Driving home I noticed wind at Kimball Junction and tried to fly my 14 at Jeremy Ranch. Not enough wind to go any where. Not a bad spot, park at the Club House, walk across the road to the south facing open area near I-80. After I finished my lame session there was a guy in a sedan waiting by my truck. I thought security but it was a friend from the gorge, Jerry Jennings, just out driving and saw a kite. Pretty funny. After that I noticed more wind at East Canyon resivior. Didn't stop but wondered about it's potiental. Any body ever ride there?

The wind pick about 15 mins after you left Bob. It was light but rideable on the 12m Nemesis HP. I was surprise how much pull I can get out of this 12m kite. I was able to jump and do pop stuff easily. It was cool to see everyone riding. Everybody was jumping, taking powder turns and looping up the mountian. Kevin, Eric, Jesse, Kevin Sweeney, John, Mike, 6 other kiters I forgot their name (sorry, I'm not good with name).

i was relieved to see kiters at strawberry river. i had been down all the way down to the cabins when i turned back with no wind about 11:30. i stopped accross the road from ladders and took an hour and half hike up into the hills to get a workout and skied back down. when i was at the top of the ridge, i could feel the wind picking up and even wish i had a kite with me beucase once i got past the scrub oak, the mountain looked good to ride. i was heading back home when i could see the roadside flags start to blow and low and behold there were kiters at strawberry river. thanks Jake for letting me use your kite for a brief session. the 30 minutes i spent out there with light wind was all i could stand after skinning. i was amazed at how much power the 12 nemisis HP generated....

all in all, what a great day! get out away from everything with a good workout and some decent snow in the backcountry and finding friends and kites just a few minutes later. i love the Wasatch Mtns!
