06/06&07 DCCB, 6.6m sail, 117L board
The wind blew all night Friday, and thundershowers were forecast for Saturday, so a dawn patrol looked like the safest bet - until, that is, I was ready to head for the lake at about 6 AM, at which point the wind quit. Not to worry, though, it started coming back about 9, and by the time I got on the water at 10:45 it was full on whitecaps. Very powered up in the gusts on a 6.6 for about 90 minutes, after which it started to back off a little, and I left. Others taking advantage of the high water level to launch at Charleston Bridge included the Bradshaws, George Ward, and Carl.
Similar deal today except that the wind didn't stop until afternoon. Got on the water at 7:45, same gear, same gusty conditions.
