07/08 DCCB 6.0m sail, 117/96L boards
Craig nailed it:
The SW wind picked up at 11 Pm last night and blew until about 5 AM, paused, and then started building again about 8 AM. By the time I got to DCCB at about 9:30 it was full on whitecaps. Got on the water about 10 and was fully powered most of the time. Sailed up to DCIB, arriving about 10:45; nobody out there, one kite up at DCBWB. Screaming ride back to DCCB, where Judy was rigging down from a 6.0 to a 5.0. I stayed with the 6.0, but probably shouldn't have, as I was OP much of the time. It was quite gusty from the start and got more so as the session progressed, just as Craig predicted.
If you thought DC was wildly
gusty the last 2 days, you'll really think it's gusty today. Look for the best DC conditions at 11 AM in the 6.5/12M
range, but quickly degenerating into strong gusts with huge lulls by about 3 PM
