Going by the weather forecast I figured it would be a great day if I got by with the 7.0 and didn’t have to rig the 9.0. And when I got there to 8 mph I figured I was cooked. But it went from nothing to dust blowing in a half hour. I had 2 boards and 2 sails rigged before I even got to the water. I definitely wasn’t expecting to be ripping around on the 6.0 and 85L Sonic. Finally, near 10:00 I was near the beach wondering what to do with what turned out to be 28 mph winds (My smallest sail was a 5.5). But that was the peak and within a half an hour I was on the 7.0 ripping around on the S-Type and by noon I was on the big Carve seeing how many round trips I could make without coming off a plane. It was kind of a rigfest at first but ended up being a great, long session on a day when I didn’t expect much. And it never rained; there weren’t even any threatening clouds. Nice time. I even found the mast tip I lost in the weeds in June.

Dimitri,
The lake level is gettng pretty low. We are down to the slime sediment bed for some slipping and sliding when you get in. It seems like it was the end of September before it got that low last year. You have to stay on a strong upwind tack all the time, although that wasn't hard today. With just me and one boat today it felt crowded. Still, if you can cut some really short jibes it is fun.
