Missed some high winds at G.ville the tub, but found some good wind at Deer Creek. Lots of people with their kayaks, boats, jet skis etc. But all in all great wind. I was surprised that I still am quite inconsistent in getting repeat predictable rigging. I am on my second yr with my Maui Sails MS2 but it was really squirrelly so I cranked it down another 4 inches and really flattened the it. Even though the top was quite floppy, it felt just right. The wind was on and off but zipping back and forth about 75% of the time. Few more sailors on the water enjoying it. Thought I saw Josh giving some rides (good work).

PS - Don't know who the sailor is, but got it off the Live Cam.

I chose to hit Sailboat Beach. 138L 7.5. 1:00-4:30 Got on plane, but probably below 25%. 9.0 would have been nice with the exception of some of the really strong gusts. Speaking of gusts, WOW. Very up and down. Still it felt great to get something after a long dry spell for me. P.S. the picture was not anyone I saw out there. The only other company on the west end were some people on a white cloth batten sail. He had to be rescued by a jet ski, got too pooped out to get back. I sure love my harness!

Got there a little before noon and it was pretty good. Still gusty, but hey it is Deer Creek. I went with the 6.2 because my 7.5 is still out of commission. Got some good rides but by the time Rob arrived it was backing off a little. Tried to use the 9.0 but it has been a while and it was way too heavy and over powered compared to the 6.2. Went back to the smaller sail and just waited for the gusts. The 7.5 would have been perfect today. Still a fun day, but lots of traffic on the water. Next weekend will be nice when we are the only ones there. Lets hope for a windy fall.

I have not really taken advantage of the graphs. Interesting to see the baro having a quite linear relationship to wind (inv. prop). It was up almost all day.

Yeah, Rob, I've been trying to make a correlation between baro pressure and DC wind for a few years with limited success. The graphs really show it well though. Maybe it will be more useful in the future.

I braved the labor crowds at Island Beach. I brought family up with me to increase the fun factor. Kenny (my son) got a lot of rides on the front of my broad. On a few gusts I even got him up on some screaming reaches, literally. Good thing my Bic Nova has a handle on the nose or else he would have bounced right off.

Pretty good DC wind. I thought it would discourage the boaters but the labor day "last day of summer" spirit won.

Hopefully the fall wind is upon us and I can start making up for a lackluster summer.

I saw a couple of those rides and the look on his face was priceless. He was hanging on for all it was worth! :oo
