Got to Lincoln around 6:00 pm only to find a South breeze blowing and a few kiters waiting around getting eaten alive my mosquitoes. Kirk saved the day with his bug spray - thanks, Kirk! Around 7:00 the wind finally switched and it was game on. I struggled a bit on my 11M and 135 board to stay planing, but most of the time it was strong enough for some good reaches. Most everyone else were on 13-15M with good power. It was good to get back out there even if only for an hour at sunset.

I had a good time for 40 minutes or so. Went out first on a 12M LF Havoc and small board, but then it lightened up a bit. Traded the small board for the Glide and rode for 10-15 more minutes before dark. Craig said it would be gusty and he was right. It was manageable with the mid range kite.
I have many (didn't want to count) mosquito bites. Lesson learned = reapply bug spray AFTER getting out of the lake while de-rigging. Those things must have really liked the nice lake smell on us after playing in the water a bit!
