Wind was smoother than yesterday, less west in it. Less traffic on the water too.
Fun rides. Wouldn't mind a bit more wind for the screaming rides though. Still, it's definitely a counter.

Good showing with Jim S., Paul B., Layne and Cindy, John D? Lots of fun reaches and some powered jibes. Looked like the kites were out for a while at BB.

May be the last day I get to sail in board shorts comfortably this year.

Grant was first on the water and rapidly vanished to windward. How far did you get?

Others there included Anjee Bradshaw, Sarah, and Linda.

Light, but steady enough that you could use your biggest stuff without fear of going over the bars in the gusts.

Hi Jim...Got far enough up wind to end up in the slot below Rainbow Bay and got a few good rides on my 7.7. However, when you and Carl blew by me on your formula gear I have to admit I was jealous! You guys looked really cool sailing side by side like a couple of stealth fighters.

The stealth fighters were Carl and Paul Badshaw; I was just trying to say in their neighborhood. Sailing with those two is inspiring and humbling.

Sir McCallister is way too humble.

I watched him rig up and in hardly any wind he tacked higher than anyone ever even dreams of at DC. Someday he will share his upwind knowledge, till then the rest of us will run the same ol' tracks at DC for .9 miles to the other side, hope we clear the damm island on the return. Grant has technique down to a science and chasing him upwind is hopeless unless maybe it was 5.5. kind of day. In ten years I've only once ripped up to Rainbow Bay, all factors combined into a perfect storm. 7.5 sail, Free Formula 138, HAD to go upwind hard or get thrown. Way overpowered, redlined on the wrong board. Everyone else at IB could not make it up there, its a strange DC thing, the window opens and closes.

The parking nazis are out be forewarned, 10 bucks a day or buy a season pass.

did someone get a ticket? i saw the guy cruising the lot but didn't see him write anyone up.
