10/4/09 Lake Powell 5.7m 145L
Having sailed Powell many times, with fairly light winds (and when I left, not much forecast for wind), thought I was well prepared by only packing a 7.5m for me and a 5.7m for my daughter, with my 145L Carve... Whoa!!!! Should have packed my 85L and a 4.2m, as Sunday served up a wild and windy day at Bullfrog Bay. Put in a couple of wildly over powered sessions on the 5.7m, while trying to control a 145L board, in a wind and swell more similar to a dandy day at the Gorge. However, no need to complain, it's was pretty fun, blasting around Bullfrog Bay... between fly swatters. Warm water (72), warm air (65)... guess it's back to October sailing along the Wasatch (burr...)
