Quite a day at Willard. Jason and I got there just after 9:00am and put up 16m kites to begin with. Mike came shortly thereafter with a 10.5 Naish and a surfboard. I didn't give him much hope but he did amazing on it. Marty showed a bit later and the wind filled in nicely. I lost my board at one point, got back to it then lost it again. Thanks again Mike for rescuing it for me. All in all, a great day in my book.

Mike Birch. Full time Hood River resident. Comes to Utah for the Brine Shrimp season with Derry and some other Utah/HR guys. He's super polished on his North Pacific surf board. Grew up in PC next to Jon M. Wish I could have made it!

Great time. First time I've actually been out in strong enough conditions wishing I had a smaller board. Still learning proper stance and board control. The early morning session was perfect conditions then it got a little wild for me about the time the experienced kiters decided it was time to jump in. Time to look for a smaller board for next year. Now, bring me some snow!!!
I had just as much fun watching Marty, Mike, Jacob, and I think Tyler, as I did actually getting in the water.
