2:00 on the dot, a strong white cap wind line came through. The first hour was great. The gusts were sometimes a bit much, but I was able to grunt through and recover in lulls/shadows. Little if any slogging required!

After 3:00 I had to work for it. Shifty, Gusty, and COLD. I did get my second jibe, nothing pretty, but carved into the right direction and flipped the sail without getting wet. I think I am starting to get a feel for the pre flip throw to windward/aft. I’m not getting dumped off the front as much now. Anyways after more than a few crashes the fingers were not responding properly and I started to shiver a bit too much. I packed it in even though there was still wind to be had. Jim and I think one Kite also out today. I hope to get one more DC session before the 50 degree temps force me off the water till spring. 3/2 is just not going to cut it anymore.

That was me. Fun but chilly session. A cloud blocked the sun the whole time. Good steady wind though. A big improvement over Thurs. when I got a Royal Skunk. (definition of a Royal Skunk -- Pump up, launch, walk kite out into the water, wind dies, kite falls straight down into water, grab kite, deflate and roll up in the mud and sand, take wet and muddy suit off, go home)
