Daytona Beach / Ponce Inlet Running of the Sharks

There was no wind anywhere in FL today. Except for Daytona Beach. I drove 2:15 up there and 3:00 back in Helliday traffic. It rained almost the entire time, but I wore a 2mm top and board shorts and it was bitchin! 20-30 mph on the 13m kite and cruiser pro. I would have been overpowered if it were not for HUGE amounts of white water. The waves were big enough that I was disappearing from shore. Really cool. One other kiter, one windsurfer and about 10 kids on surfboards just getting pounded. The Inlet is a cool place with a very large jetty, but it was legit gusty in there, so my time there was minimal. When I told someone at Cocoa that I was going to the Ponce Inlet he said - "Oh, you're going to do the running of the sharks?" I didn't see any that I know of :||

No incentive to stay on your board there at alllllll...

Sounds like you've had some crazy experiences so far, if you have pictures you should post up on here so those of us who havent kited the be aches/launches you've been riding can get an idea of what we're missing back here in Utah sans snow and with freezing water ;) hope the rest of the trip keeps going great man sounds like a good time.

That area has alot of sharks, but the whole state does. In my years windsurfing around Fl I have only seen three. However, its always the one you don't see thats the problem. :oo I will be down there sailing end of Dec and the beginning of Jan. Let me know if you are going to be around.
